Project Description

D&B Project Responsibilities2786-PSC

Under pressure from the DEC to clean up the ground contamination, PSC contracted D&B to
design a new building to enclose the existing operations of their chemical transfer facility.  

The new building will have a 2-story office area including conference room, locker room with
showers and offices, and a warehouse space to contain chemicals. This project required D&B
to design the project in such a way that would allow PSC to continue operations throughout

Proposed LEED Silver certification

This ranking will be obtained by:
• Use of “Brownfield” site• Integration of Remedial Action Work Plan into redevelopment
• Sustainable site planning
• Use of recycled and local building materials, including demolition
• Installation of water-saving plumbing fixtures
• High efficiency mechanical systems
• Installation of photovoltaic solar panels on roof to supply portion of electrical requirements
• Use of native plants for landscaping to conserve water use
• Pre-cast concrete wall system with high insulation value & recycled content

LEED Points Inside Building Achieved with:
• Low emitting (V.O.C) sealants, paints & finishes
• Materials w/ recycled content, such as carpet
• Daylight & views
• Use of regional materials
• Ultra low-flow plumbing fixtures
