Project Description

Min-SCADA-1D&B provided engineering services for the design and construction of a new SCADA System for the Incorporated Village of Mineola Water Department. The new SCADA system was designed to replace an existing telemetry system that was over 40 years old. The existing system was difficult to maintain as the system components were no longer available.

The new system was designed to eliminate inherent weaknesses that existed in the old system. Each of the remote facilities is capable of communicating directly with the main computer located at the main office, providing redundancy. A radio communication system was installed with a cablevision backup system. Each site is capable of operating in a local control mode in the event that the communication system fails.

Min-SCADA-2The new system was installed and started up while maintaining the operation of the existing system. Each remote facility was switched over to the new system until the entire system was operating on the new system.

D&B provided design, bidding and construction services for this project.
