As you may be aware, New York State is the 32nd state to officially recognize Geology as a “professional” occupation, similar to how the State already recognizes and regulates professionally licensed Engineers and Land Surveyors. Under the provisions of New York State’s new Chapter 475 legislation, the New York State Board for Engineering and Land Surveying will now be recognized as the New York State Board for Engineering, Land Surveying and Geology.
Similar to the Engineering and Land Surveying professions, Professional Geologists must meet a host of rigorous requirements associated with education, experience, examination, age and moral character. To meet these new requirements and to increase our competitiveness in today’s demanding marketplace, D&B is now coordinating for the professional licensure of several key employees.
Congratulations to Thomas P. Fox, P.G., Stephen E. Tauss, P.G. and Anthony M. Caniano, P.G. for being the first at D&B to obtain their Professional Geologist licenses!
