Building Information Modeling
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is one of the rapidly advancing technologies in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industries, and D&B’s expertise put us on the leading edge.
BIM is an intelligent, 3D model-based process through which it is possible to extensively understand a building. The model’s information can be used to perform analyses to aid in the design process, as well as to determine the real world building implications. The model typically contains precise geometry resulting in accurate construction documents that ultimately facilitates the entire construction process.
Having an accurate three-dimensional building or facility representation offers many benefits to owners/operators. Information regarding facility operations and maintenance schedules can be easily monitored and tracked using visual depictions of equipment. BIM places a plethora of detailed equipment information at the building owner’s fingertips.
D&B’s staff members hold multiple certifications, and are active members in many of the tri-state area’s virtual design and construction associations.
Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD)
D&B utilizes CADD in architectural, civil/survey, mechanical process, piping, electrical, structural, HVAC, and instrumentation/control projects including:
- Water treatment plants
- Water tanks
- Water pump stations
- Wastewater treatment plants
- Wastewater pump stations
- Sewer and water distribution systems
- Roadway design
- Drainage systems
- Site grading projects
D&B CADD operators and designers apply their decades of experience utilizing the most advanced versions of:
- Carlson Civil
- AutoCAD Architecture AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- AutoCAD Revit (for creating 3D Building Information Models).
D&B utilizes KIP large format digital plotters and scanners, and HP large format color plotters and multiple color/black-and-white laser printers.
