The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP), Bureau of Water Treatment (BWT), has awarded to D&B a contract for Consulting Design and Design Services During Construction in Connection with Miscellaneous Projects at Various BWT Locations. The NYCDEP awarded three contracts to support Job Order Contracts (JOCs). The term of the contracts is sixty months.
The BWT is responsible for the operation and maintenance of 14 Wastewater Treatment Plants, 96 Pump Stations, regulators and Combined Sewer Overflow facilities. The type of Design Services and Design Services During Construction includes Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical and Instrumentation disciplines. The required tasks include Project Management, Preparation of Detailed Plans and Specifications, Estimating Project Costs and Design Services During Construction.
D&B was selected by the NYCDEP because previous BWT experience, the quality of its staff, its knowledge of BWT facilities, its ability to work on multiple projects at the same time and D&B’s history of successfully completing assignments on time and within budget. D&B has worked with BWT facilities and personnel over the past four years and has acquired a great deal of knowledge and understanding of BWT standards. The D&B team assigned to manage this contract, namely Dennis Koehler, P.E., Project Director; Jeffrey Butler, P.E., Project Manager; K. Gopalakrishnan, P.E., (Gopal), Project Advisor, have extensive knowledge and experience with BWT facilities and personnel.
In reviewing and evaluating all the strengths D&B brings to the table for this contract, the NYCDEP evaluated D&B’s proposal and scored it very highly. Congratulations to Jeff Butler, Elizabeth Sam and the proposal team for their efforts on winning this important contract.
