The New York Water Environment Association (NYWEA) supports professional training in the areas of good engineering practices for water and wastewater management. One of NYWEA’s programs offers scholarships to qualified high school and college students who are enrolled full time in a science curriculum with an environmental emphasis. NYWEA offers a total of $27,000 annually to support their student scholarship program. At the NYWEA Annual Winter meeting in February, out-going NYWEA President Mark Koester, announced the creation of a new NYWEA scholarship. NYWEA is adding a new $5,000 annual scholarship and it will be called the Nicholas J. Bartilucci Environmental Scholarship. In naming this scholarship for Nick, NYWEA is honoring Nick’s career accomplishments and achievements in the field of water and wastewater management and his outstanding contributions and commitment to the growth and success of NYWEA. Congratulations Nick on receiving this wonderful recognition.
