D&B provides services for the installation of water mains for new developments, transmission mains, process piping and upgrades to existing distribution systems.
The former industry standard cast iron and asbestos cement water mains, many of which are some 100 years old, become brittle over time resulting in a higher frequency of water main breaks. D&B collaborates with clients to upgrade infrastructure and replace antiquated mains with modern ductile iron water mains on annual regular preventative basis, including replacement of 4-inch mains as required by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH). D&B also handles disposal of the hazardous asbestos cement pipe material when encountered.
Our services comprise a total package, including preparation of detailed plans and specifications for bidding purposes as well as services during construction to ensure that all installations are constructed in conformance with the approved plans and specifications. D&B’s familiarity with State and regulatory agency requirements typically streamlines the permitting process, allowing construction to commence on a timely basis.
D&B’s full time inspection during construction benefits clients with a detailed accounting of the material quantities for billing purposes, as well as the collection of accurate as-built data. D&B also prepares record drawings of water mains after completion.
