D&B Engineers and Architects is hiring a Technical Assistant to support grant administration. Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of Senior Engineers and Project Managers, this candidate will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks relating to pre- and post-award grant administration. These tasks include but are not limited to:
Pre-Award
- Compiling and formatting applications and completing required forms to meet funding agency specifications and deadlines
- Developing relationships with staff at funding agencies and groups, including but not limited to the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC)
- Obtaining knowledge of and expertise on different funding sources, including but not limited to: Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF), New York State Consolidated Funding Application (CFA), Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) funding, and more
- Analyzing all available resources to identify potential funding opportunities
- Coordinating a team of technical staff to develop materials, including project budgets, engineering reports, and permit documentation in support of funding applications
- Interfacing with clients to obtain all required documentation and signatures
- Maintaining accurate, detailed, and up-to-date records of all funding application materials
Post-Award
- Receiving and responding to correspondence from awarding agencies
- Gathering, organizing, and sharing all requested follow-up information from awarding agencies
- Interfacing with clients and technical staff to provide all documentation necessary and complete grant/funding agreement execution
- Engaging with clients’ Minority Business Officers (MBOs) to review Utilization Plans (UPs) submitted by contractors and following up with contractors when necessary to obtain full UP packages.
- Organizing and compiling monthly and quarterly reports submitted by contractors for grant funding disbursements
- Working with technical staff, funding agencies, MBOs, and contractors to obtain approvals on UPs, obtain funding disbursements, and ensure that all grant or funding terms and conditions are satisfied
Qualifications
- At least an associate’s degree (bachelor’s degree is preferred)
- 0 – 2 years of administrative experience
- Familiarity with governmental funding agencies, requirements, and projects is a plus
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Excel
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
