The annual AWWA Regional Meeting of the Section Officers was held jointly with both Region 1 and Region 3 in Detroit, Michigan this spring. At the meeting, representatives shared information and discussed upcoming priorities and planning. The agenda consisted of several Section Program Showcase segments where representatives learned from the experiences of their section peers on topics including highlighted programs, and recent water challenges and solutions.
As Chair of the New York State section of AWWA, Michael Savarese, Vice President of the Water Supply Division at D&B Engineers and Architects, was excited to participate in this collaborative event.
He states, “Discussing hot topics in water at the RMSO is a valuable experience for me and for all the other section representatives. It allows us to work together to problem solve and share information, each then able to bring back new ideas to improve our local sections.
Representatives from the Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Maryland, New England, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and Wisconsin sections were also in attendance.
