Congratulations to D&B President, Steven A. Fangmann, P.E., BCEE, who was honored by Long Island Business News as a recipient of the 2025 Icon Honors.
Icon Honors recognizes Long Island’s most established business leaders for growing jobs, making a difference in the community, having notable success, and demonstrating strong leadership within and outside their fields.
Mr. Fangmann’s record of service to the engineering profession and to Long Island is extensive. He is a Past President of the New York Water Environment Association (NYWEA), a member of the NYWEA Hall of Fame, and a recipient of the prestigious Nicholas J. Bartilucci Award for Lifetime Achievement. He is also Past President of the Nassau Chapter of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers (NYSSPE) and a winner of the Top Engineer Award from Long Island Business News.
Under Mr. Fangmann’s leadership, D&B has showcased many award-winning projects, most notably an ACEC National Award in 2024 for the “Clean Water for Carll’s River” project and an ACEC National Award in 2025 for the “Ocean Beach Flood Mitigation and Resiliency” project.
Mr. Fangmann was honored as part of a celebration held on Thursday, August 21 at the Crest Hollow Country Club and was profiled in a special section of Long Island Business News that ran August 22, 2025.
