The New York Water Environment Association (NYWEA) held its 89th Annual Winter Meeting in New York City. The meeting was hosted by the Marriott Marquis from February 5th through February 8th. The mission of NYWEA is to promote sustainable clean water quality management through science, education and training. D&B has supported NYWEA initiatives and has been an active member of the organization for over 50 years.
At this year’s technical winter conference Rob DeGiorgio, Senior Vice President, presented a paper on the Wards Island WWTP rehabilitation project. This project includes concrete rehabilitation and new final settling tank mechanical systems. The technical paper focused on innovative non-destructive concrete test methods, concrete life cycle analyses using computer simulations and computational fluid dynamic modeling to optimize flow characteristics within the final tanks. The photo below shows Rob speaking to NYWEA members.
Steve Fangmann, Executive Vice President, chaired the Government Affairs Committee Meeting held at the conference.
