D&B employees represented the firm at the 14th annual Marcum Workplace Challenge held at Jones Beach State Park in Wantagh, NY. Long Island’s largest corporate run-walk for charity, as well as the region’s largest office picnic, the 3.5-mile run-walk drew hundreds from the Long Island business community. The annual event and has raised over $900,000 for LI charities since 2006. D&B people strongly supported the event and the company donated the registration fees of all team members.
Tom Savarese (21:26) led the D&B team at the corporate run-walk and T.J. McConnell (23:50) and Russell Darress (23:59) rounded out the top three. In all, thirteen D&Bers came in under 30 minutes. That’s impressive! Also impressive is the fact that 35 people from D&B finished the race, while others participated in the organizing of the event.
D&B President Steve Fangmann commented, “Giving back is an important part of what D&B is all about. We maintain a significant grass roots level commitment to support charities in all the communities where we have a presence and beyond. This is certainly a worthy event, and our people demonstrated their support with a fine turnout and a spirited effort.”
Proceeds from this year’s event were donated to: The Long Island Children’s Museum; Children’s Medical Fund of New York; Long Island Cares, Inc. – The Harry Chapin Food Bank; and The Nassau County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
