D&B Senior Vice President Joseph H. Marturano and D&B Associate Matthew Thogersen, P.E. participated in the ASCE Long Island Branch volunteer build event with Habitat for Humanity of Long Island on July 9, 2022 in Huntington Station.
D&B’s dynamic duo started the day by setting 2 x 4 roof truss sections on the second floor of the new home, including running a string line across the side of the home and adjusting the trusses until they were properly placed. After the trusses on the second floor were completed, Joe headed down to the first floor to continue truss adjustment and Matt assisted other volunteers with the installation of 3/8-inch plywood sheathing on the interior divider walls.
Although it was a hot and humid Long Island summer day, there was plenty of water to go around, and no shortage of high fives and good intentions either!
