D&B Engineers and Architects President Steve Fangmann and D&B Engineers and Architects Senior Vice President Joseph H. Marturano recently attended Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum’s 2nd Annual Golf Outing at The Woodside Club in Syosset, NY.

D&B Engineers and Architects President Steven A. Fangmann and D&B Engineers and Architects Senior Vice President Joseph H. Marturano are proud to support the Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum.
The event was well attended on a beautiful spring day and proved to be a highly successful fundraiser for this worthy organization. D&B was a tee sponsor of the event.
Mr. Fangmann commented, “D&B is proud to be a sponsor of this event for the second consecutive year. The Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum is a vital organization that engages the community to explore Long Island’s extensive whaling past. A visit to the museum brings local history into a cohesive, first-hand narrative of a bygone era that begins long before the Civil War. It is a wonderful educational experience that includes a wide variety of authentic artifacts.”
About The Whaling Museum & Education Center:
The museum’s collection and education programs provide the community with a significant link to the understanding of one of Long Island’s earliest major industries – whaling. The collection was formed by the local community who recognized the need for a repository to preserve the region’s local maritime history and Cold Spring Harbor’s whaling past.
The library and archival collection contains 2,800 primary and secondary volumes and manuscript material from the Cold Spring whaling fleet, ship’s logs, journals and business correspondence of the Cold Spring Whaling Company, family documents dealing with maritime commerce on Long Island, records of the Long Island coastwise trade under sail and records from the Cold Spring Harbor Customs House (1798-1908).
