Even a worldwide pandemic couldn’t keep the brave and the dedicated from the links at the historic Meadow Brook Club to raise funds for a most worthy cause.
On August 18th, 128 golfers including D&B President Steve Fangmann and Senior Vice President Joe Marturano applied their drivers, irons, and putters to both the challenging course and to the immense challenge of defeating breast cancer. The 2020 outing included COVID-19 adjustments like rolling tee times and socially-distanced meals, but did not stop supporters from coming out strong. Though their scores might not have been among the leaders, Steve and Joe helped raise nearly $170,000 for the cause, a terrific figure, all things considered!
“The Maurer foundation mission is to save lives through breast health education, with efforts focused on prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, early detection and risk reduction,” Steve Fangmann commented. “This is something that D&B has been proud to vigorously support the Maurer Foundation for the last five years.”
Joe Marturano added, “the funds that were raised in 2020 have added importance as the Maurer Foundation will be bringing their programs to students in a virtual manner in the new school year.”
