On Tuesday evening, July 26th, D&B participated in the eleventh annual Marcum Corporate Challenge. The Marcum Workplace Challenge is Long Island’s largest corporate run-walk for charity as well as the region’s largest office picnic. The event, held at Jones Beach, has raised more than $700,000 for Long Island charities since Marcum became title sponsor in 2006. This 3.5 mile run brings together over 12,000 participants and over 200 local Long Island companies to support four wonderful charities; The Long Island Children’s Museum, Children’s Medical Fund of New York, Long Island Cares, Inc., The Harry Chapin Food Bank, and the Nassau County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. This year D&B was represented by 48 runners/walkers. D&B’s T-shirt slogan “Strides ahead of the competition” was created by Maria Zena, after a companywide competition was held for the catchiest slogan.
Thank you to all employees who participated and a special congratulations to D&B’s Co-Ed team consisting of Chris Koegel, Shaun McGrath, Rachel Fenwick and Maria Wright, who came in second place out of 40 teams this year, with a combined time of 1:35:12! A special thank you to Kelly Pedone and Robbin Petrella for organizing D&B’s participation in the Corporate Challenge.
