D&B Founder, Jericho Water District Commissioner and Leading Industry Figure Honored Posthumously.
There was quite a turnout at the Jericho Water District for the dedication of the District’s Nicholas J. Bartilucci Administration Building Operations Complex, as some seventy people braved the cold to posthumously honor the late President and founder of D&B Engineers and Architects, P.C.
Nick, long recognized as one of New York’s leading experts on water supply, conservation and sustainability, served as a Jericho Water District Commissioner for more than 45 years.
Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor Joseph Saladino presented a proclamation to Mrs. Joan Bartilucci, which cited her and Mr. Bartilucci’s contributions to the Long Island community. Nassau County Legislator Joshua Lafazan (18th Legislative District) presented a citation from the Nassau County Legislature to Joan Bartilucci in memory of Nicholas J. Bartilucci noting “service to the community, neighbors and families, and in recognition of your leadership to enriching the lives of others.”
The Reverend Michael T. Maffeo, Pastor of St. Edward the Confessor Church (Syosset, NY) gave a blessing as new signage marking the event was unveiled. Former NY State Senator Carl Marcellino, Oyster Bay Town Clerk Richard LaMarca, and Oyster Bay Town Councilwoman Vicki Walsh spoke, acknowledging Nick’s many contributions during his long and storied career.
Steve Fangmann, President of D&B Engineers and Architects, P.C., presented a beautiful etched glass trophy in the shape of a water droplet to mark the event. “Nick was a mentor to so many, a recognized industry spokesman, a man whose advice and strong leadership were respected in industry circles, in boardrooms as well as in the halls of government.” Mr. Fangmann stated. “His unwavering dedication to scientific and moral principles shaped this company as well as the industry. I am pleased both personally and on behalf of D&B, that the Jericho Water District has recognized his innumerable contributions through the years.”
