As a result of the damage caused by Superstorm Sandy, NYCHA is faced with a massive reconstruction and renovation work effort. In fact, the NYCHA received the largest FEMA grant, $3,000,000,000, to aid the Sandy recovery and rebuilding effort. In an effort to better manage the many complex construction projects, NYCHA has instituted an e-Builder program to facilitate the process. NYCHA’s e-Builder program is a cloud-based construction program management solution which provides performance data across the project lifecycle. Its software is used to manage key project data through the planning, design, procurement, and construction phases.
Anthony Miccarelli is D&B’s Office Engineer, providing Construction Management services, for NYCHA’s Astoria Houses Sandy Recovery Program. NYCHA uses e-Builder to process submittals, RFIs, payments, daily/monthly reports, scheduling analysis reports, meeting minutes, field memos, and major issues and risks. Anthony’s work in e-Builder has been used as examples in NYCHA meetings with other Construction Management firms to show how best to utilize the program and set the expectation level to capture their required information. Anthony was awarded the prestigious title of e-Builder Champion for the month of February. Congratulations Anthony, keep up the good work in representing the D&B Construction Management Team.
