LBHA FEMA Flood Remediation and Resiliency
D&B assisted the Long Beach Housing Authority to review the status of existing FEMA Project Worksheets and denoted versions of each to include impacted items previously not addressed. This included investigating all impacted facilities, preparing a strategy to improve resiliency at each, and preparing preliminary drawings and cost estimates required to secure funding.
Through this work, D&B later became responsible for the design, bidding and construction management for four high-rise and two low-rise public housing buildings that were impacted by Superstorm Sandy. The project implements long-term flood protection programs, which includes raising MEP equipment to high-rise rooftops, designing new MEP enclosures on the rooftops, installing flood barriers around low-rise mechanical room, replacing damaged MEP equipment and various other flood protection and resiliency measures.
