D&B Engineers and Architects once again proudly supported The Maurer Foundation in the 27th annual Golf Classic for Breast Health Education as a Pink Diamond Sponsor. It was a beautiful sunny and breezy day on the links at two of Long Island’s most prestigious courses, Old Westbury Country Club and Meadow Brook Club. The wind played havoc with the drives and long irons of the 200 golfers, but that didn’t stop the D&B team from winning 1st Low Net Team in the outing!
The winning D&B team played the Old Westbury course and consisted of D&B President, Steven A. Fangmann, P.E., BCEE; D&B Senior Engineer Arnold Palleschi; Lee Sackett of L’abbate, Balkan, Colavita & Contini, L.L.P., D&B’s Melville-based full service law firm; and Howard Tollin of Sterling Risk Insurance (Woodbury, NY) which handles D&B’s insurance needs. The low net was 57, congratulations to all!
“It’s a very worthy cause,” Mr. Fangmann stated. “The Maurer Foundation conveys a vital, lifesaving message about preventing breast cancer, encouraging early detection and risk reduction, as well as promoting healthy lifestyles. D&B has been a supporter of The Maurer Foundation for many years, and we are certainly proud that we helped in raising over $315,000 for breast health education through this golf classic.” Steve and Lucia Fangmann continue to serve on the Event’s Golf Committee.
Another golf highlight was the opportunity to test your golf skills in a “Beat The Pro” contest against renowned NFL stars Ottis Anderson, a former NY Giants running back (and Super Bowl XXV MVP) and Greg Buttle, former NY Jets star linebacker. No one is talking about how that worked out!!
