Matthew Thogersen, P.E., a Senior Associate at D&B Engineers and Architects, was honored on June 18 at the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Metropolitan Section Awards Dinner. With more than 12 years of experience in design and construction management of wastewater projects across the NY metro area, he was honored with the 2025 Younger Member Award from the Section.
“D&B is a team of outstanding engineers, and it is always an honor when they are recognized for their work,” said D&B President Steven A. Fangmann, P.E., BCEE. “We extend a sincere congratulations to Mr. Thogersen on receiving this prestigious honor.”
Mr. Thogersen was chosen for the award based on his contributions and commitment to the civil engineering profession and to the ASCE. He served as a member of the ASCE Long Island Branch Board from 2018 to 2024, including a year as President of the Board. Mr. Thogersen continues to volunteer with the Branch in assisting the ASCE with serving the civil engineering profession on Long Island. He has contributed greatly to organizing and executing Branch programing including technical lectures, volunteering events such as Habitat for Humanity, and the Branch’s annual Awards Dinner.
A 2013 graduate from the State University of New York at Buffalo, Mr. Thogersen started at D&B shortly thereafter and earned his P.E. license in 2022. He currently serves as an engineer in D&B’s wastewater infrastructure division.
